Assisted Living Communities

The Genworth Cost of Care Survey 2018 says that the national median cost for assisted living per month is $4,000, which breaks down to around $133 per day (and adds up to $48,000 per year). To put that into some context, the same survey says a private room in a nursing home will cost around $8,365 a month, which is $278 per day ($100,380 per year).

Some assisted living communities may require a move-in fee, which could equal one month’s rent or less.
